Strange Dust Selling by Thraul

Today's Hatchery post was submitted by Thraul who writes the Arllan's AH Game blog where this piece originally appeared. If you'd like your own gold-making post to appear on the Hatchery email the post, title, images and your name/pseudonym to powerwordgold@gmail.com with the word "Hatchery" as part of the subject line.

Hallow's End has begun and now its time to reset the market on an unusual piece of material [Strange Dust].

Strange Dust is required for a quest turn in [Taking Precautions] which is part of a small quest chain that rewards a [Creepy Crate].

So for those people that are stocking up on Battle Pets this is a nice item to sell.

I bought out my AH last night of Strange Dust. They were selling for about 50s a piece. Picked up about 1000 pieces. I have managed to flip them for between 8g - 10g a piece.

I can flip these for anything above 50s and make a profit. I was the only one doing this for a few hours. Did not take long for competition to creep in but prices are still sitting at about 4g - 5g a piece.

A new feature in MoP is the Luck of the Lotus Buff which is obtained when you loot Golden Lotus as an herbalist.  This buff "Allows you to sometimes find extra treasure from monsters in Pandaria.  Lasts 15 min.  Effect persists through death."  I was not quite sure what this meant when I first looted the herb, but I did notice that I was getting random 'Plundered Treasure' while I had the buff. Seeing as we are all now getting free access to the WoW Remote Auction House, I wanted to share with you all a tip that will help you snag those cheap Cata greens using the mobile version of the app. For those that are new to the app, I suspect you will be pleasantly surprised with the ease of use of the Browse Auctions feature. However, it does have its limitations, so read on after the jump to avoid missing out on that tasty Jasperlode Helm of the Bear that someone just posted for 5 gold :o Read on past the jump.

With the release date announced for the Mists of Pandaria expansion it is a good time to start thinking about what to stockpile in preparation for Mists.  In the spirit of disclosure I haven't done an in depth study of everything that is changing in Mists, but I have some suggestions that have proven to be beneficial during the launch of Cataclysm. The Journey to Gold Cap by CavalloDeTesta

Recently, I’ve hit 1 million gold. As an avid player since patch 1.10 (yes vanilla) I take pride in being one of the few players who know what its like to beg for 50g for a respect just so I could raid for that evening’s Molten Core run. Gold in vanilla was extremely rare, almost as rare as the gear that the 1% guilds wore out of Naxxaramas at the time. I used to think that I would never see that content because there was something that was far more important than shiny purples. It happened to be gold. Read on past the jump.

Crafting And Selling Netherweave Bags by fenjayminor

Today's Hatchery post was submitted by fenjayminor (Twitter: @fenjayminor). (If you'd like your own gold-making post to appear on the Hatchery email the post, title, images and your name/pseudonym to powerwordgold@gmail.com with the word "Hatchery" in the subject line.)

Crafting and selling Netherweave bags is a good background or startup gold-making activity. These bags are nothing new - they were introduced almost three expansions ago. But they have not stopped flying off the shelves since the days that Illidan ran Outland and we all lived in Shattrath City, showing off our nether drakes. Head past the jump for the reasons why.

The Definitive Transmog Shopping List Compilation

We've had some great gold-makers submit posts to The Hatchery. Some of the most popular posts so far have been the transmogrification lists submitted by Keelhaul, Farli and EpicPennyPouch.

I've given the link to these lists out more times than I can count. For gold-makers interested in getting started selling transmog items these lists are invaluable. I've decided to blend all four posts into one easy-to-use post. Head past the jump for the lists along with citations back to the original posts.

Skinning Savage Leather in the Firelands! by Dorshii

I have always used mining and herbing as my main source of income but one of my close friends had persuaded me to get skinning on one of my alts. One of his winning points for me was when he showed me when how much he had made during a 1 hour session of farming savage leather. I was pretty amazed when he showed me the screenshot of his backpack after. It was pretty awesome that I just had to show you guys this awesome skinning spot. Find our more after the jump.

Farming Deepholm For Profit by Novas

Today's Hatchery post was submitted by Novas from Senjin (US) H. If you'd like your own gold-making post to appear on the Hatchery email it to powerwordgold@gmail.com with "Hatchery" as part of the subject line.

I have been doing this for a long time and have found it to be very strong for farming as an aspect of gold making. The troggs in deepholm on the cliff in the west if farmed in a circle can yield and incredible amount of profit. I have tested this using a shadow priest and a mage. (both tailoring and chanting) I was able to yield 6.7k+gold an hour. Head past the jump to find out how I do it.

My Mogging Success Story by Bovis

Though I've been playing World of Warcraft for five years, I am relatively new to gold-making. My interest was peaked due to a guildie posting in our guild forums: "You too can be a WoW Millionaire". He posted a few podcast links, one being PowerWord: Gold.  The very first episode I downloaded was Episode 24 where Flux interviewed Keehaul, aka The Mogfather.  Hearing that I could flip a worthless piece of Vanilla or Burning Crusade gear into a huge profit seemed too good to be true.  51 days and 75k gold later, I assure you, it was worth the investment. Head past the jump for a few thoughts on mogging.

The Unabridged Cloth Mogging Flip List by Keelhaul

First, a brief introduction:

I'm known in these circles as the Mogfather. I predicted transmogrification would be big for gold-makers, and in 45 days following the release of patch 4.3 and I've earned over one million gold doing one and one thing alone: flipping gear and weapons on auction houses. I buy low, I sell high and in some cases extremely high. I follow a strategy that I honed on my own leveraging a pair of invaluable resources (wowroleplaygear.com, wowhead.com) as well as visual tools I developed that are currently hosted on my former blog (deazeroth.com). If you'd like more insight into the background story and philosophy behind the strategy, check out flux's Power Word Gold Podcast Episode #24. Read on past the jump.

Do not be afraid to Haggle! by Laraku

Hi, Laraku @ShavedSilver here with a quick profit booster.

In many countries around the world, it is considered a normal part of the buying/selling process to haggle over the price.  In fact, you may actually offend by not arguing! Or at least prove you are an ignorant tourist. Head past the jump for more.

Banking Off Unwanted Christmas Gifts! by Timewave

The Holiday Pets Market.

The Winter Veil has just ended, and just like after visiting your grandma for a holiday get together, many people are left with something they already have and wish to get rid of quickly.

If you look at your server's auction house within the first week or 2 after the end of Winter Veil, you will notice it is flooded with the various holiday pets from under the tree.

These pets, by name, are Snowman Kit, Red Helper Box, Green Helper Box, and Jingling Bell.
These are likely from players who just wish to get rid of a pet they already know for some quick money. Read on past the jump for more.
