Leather Mogging Pricing Tiers by farli_wow and EpicPennyPouch

Today's Hatchery post is a Leather mogging item flip list put together by farli_wow who writes the gold-making blog The Overcut and EpicPennyPouch who writes the gold-making blog Epic Penny Pouch. Many of us have been clamoring for just such a list. Head past the jump to learn a bit about these two as well as find the all-important mogging list.

About Us

farli_wow: I recently hit 500k profit from transmogg on a medium population realm selling to horde and alliance. If you listen to podcasts like Power Word: Gold and Rep Grind Radio you might have heard my name pop up a few times over recent weeks.

I use great resources like wowroleplaygear, wowhead, Disenchanting Azeroth and twitterto build up my knowledge.

For more information and/or questions, follow me on Twitter: @farli_wow.

EpicPennyPouch: I went into gold making only in Cataclysm, hit the gold cap in June 2011 and shortly after that got bored of the routine and was just playing the game for a while. Then the patch 4.3 brought the transmogrification feature and the whole new market of BoE xmogging gear evolved. Keelhaul (aka Mogfather) showed us its possibilities and right now I'm full into it, xmogging my toons and selling gear to other players.

I like searching and buying part more than selling and my stock is growing so fast that I keep my prices low to move it quickly. But the best part is watching how my customers actually use the gear they buy from me. There are so many creative people out there, they surprise and inspire me every day!

Auctionator-Importable Lists

Below is the text you need to import into Auctionator to build the above lists. This will help you find these items on your own auction house.

One thing to note is that the lists below work slightly different from Auctionator lists you may be used to. For the lists below, once you have the shopping list selected you have to click on the text (ie. click on "Armor/Leather/Cutthroat") in order for the search to take place.

For example, for Tier 1 you would select "leather_t1_2k-5k" as your shopping list then click "Armor/Leather/Cutthroat" and see what items are available, then click "Armor/Leather/Ranger Hat" and so forth. It may seem cumbersome but it goes quite quickly.

  2. Is there a reason Tracker's Garb (http://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=147) and Swashbuckler's Garb (http://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=159) aren't listed? They have the same look as Glyphed, but in different colors (green and red, respectively).

    1. @ Ellie Hensley
Swashbuckler's was left out accidentally. I'm selling it, pricing in tier 3.

As for Tracker's Garb, I prefer to avoid all green and brown leather sets. They don't stand out enough to be worth flipping IMO.

I'd like to say again that this list was made to be a guideline and is based on our personal experience. If you have a substantial amount of gold and are really interested in this market, don't be afraid to experiment :)

  3. Good post guys. Nice list. Will price differently depending on how the looks appeals to me. It's win either way.

    Have fun!

    1. I'm just glad they were willing to share their experience with what actually SOLD rather then what I imagine should sell.

  4. How about some of the re-colors of other sets on your list? Stuff like Praetorian, Cabalist, Headhunter's, Murkblood, Barbaric, etc...

  5. Cabalist is very common on my realm.Best thing to do is try those out and see how they go. No list can be complete when you consider the number of sets out there and blue boe as well. We aimed to share what we had sold, leather is still pretty niche in transmogg which is itself a niche in gold making which itself is a niche in the world of warcraft. Me and EPP might have been the trailblazers in leather but there is still lots out there undiscovered. If you find something cool we would love to hear about it.
