5.2 Potential: Ghost Iron by Kryahio
Today's Hatchery post was submitted by Kryahio. If you'd like your own original gold-making writing to appear on The Hatchery simply email the post, title, images and your name/pseudonym to powerwordgold@gmail.com with the word "Hatchery" as part of the subject line and we'll post it.
So this is it. I’m Kryahio, an avid World of Warcraft player for about 5 years now, who’s very recently got into the gold making field, and a first time blogger. I wasn’t in it for much; I just wanted to experiment with different add-ons, different professions, and a total different way of playing WoW... and seeing IF it could even make 50k for a vial. Head past the jump for more.
Anyways, I’ve been looking through what’s to come on the Public Test Realms, and I stumbled on the changes to blacksmithing in the up and coming patch. A series of changes that mean levelling blacksmithing from 1 – 500 will be a lot easier with the new “Training Projects,” all of which require Ghost Iron Bars, in abundance. This means that all of those people who didn’t have the time flying around Azeroth to find the few and far between Mithril Ores, there will be an alternative way to get your Blacksmithing up very simply, and an opening opportunity for some fast cash.
Now, unlike me, if you are on a high populated realm then this will probably work better for you as the blacksmithing resources were spread thinner, but the opportunity can work on lower populated realms too. I personally have set aside a small pile of gold and bought up and considerable amount of cheap Ghost Iron ores and bars on the Auction House. Then, when the patch is released, and everybody sees how easy it is to get another high level profession, then the demand will increase. As the demand increases, then there’s a possibility that the prices will do too. I mean, it’s your call. If you know that your realm is flooded with botters that will undercut you constantly, then this is probably not an idea for you, but if you’ve got some spare gold floating about collecting dust... then it’s not going to hurt investing it. Even if the price does crash, you’ll be able to get a good head start on your blacksmith.
As far as I’m concerned, the risk is worth the gain. But then again, isn’t that half the fun of it?
Happy hunting :)
